THAILAND BEACHES Spread across two coasts and with over 1,000 islands, Thailand’s beaches are as diverse as they are beautiful. Party bays, secluded coves, iconic movie sets - Thai beaches have it all. T hailand has the perfect beach for you - all you have to do is find it. Phuket, the most developed beach destination in the country, offers a beautiful and bustling coastline from Patong through Karon down to the family-friendly sands of Kata. More exclusive stays are enjoyed at Bangtao in the north or in quieter coves like Panwa in the east. Koh Samui’s shoreline jewel is Chaweng Beach. With a party at its centre, this sweeping crescent also enjoys areas with a more laidback atmosphere. On the island’s northeastern tip, a small stretch of sand lined with restaurants, market stalls, and arty boutiques makes up the foodie paradise of Fisherman’s Village. Krabi, overlooking the iconic pillars of Phang Nga Bay, is home to dramatic cliff faces that loom over the breathtaking scenery of Ao Nang and Railay beaches - not a place to forget your camera! Other popular choices include the family-friendly coast of Khao Lak, just a short drive north of Phuket. Or, if you’re looking to stay close to Bangkok, the party resort of Pattaya is only 90 minutes away, while Hua Hin, the summer spot of Thai royalty, can be reached in three hours.
