Days 5-6: A busy day lies ahead as you take the bullet train to Kyoto, visit the spectacular temples, try origami, and join a sacred tea ceremony. Day 7: Spend the morning at Ryoanji Temple, home to Japan’s most famous zen garden and striking Golden Pavilion. After lunch in Osaka, make tracks for Hiroshima. Day 8: Take the ferry to the holy island of Miyajima before returning to Hiroshima to learn about the 1945 atomic bomb at Peace Memorial Park.
