Perth’s warm welcome Perth is Australia’s closest entry point from the UK, with the only non-stop flight and over 300 days of sunshine a year. Framed by a wonderful coastline and rolling hills to the east, Perth is a vibrant and friendly city that is renowned for its warm climate and relaxed lifestyle. This city has all the right ingredients with some of the best beaches, bustling markets, and a rich tapestry of cultural attractions just minutes away. Countless opportunities for nature You can meet Western Australia’s most famous resident – the quokka, on Rottnest Island. A short ferry ride from Perth, there are many beaches and bays to explore on this pocket of paradise. For underwater life, the UNESCO-listed Ningaloo Reef is simply unmissable. The world’s largest fringing reef is home to over 500 species of fish and 200 species of coral, as well as eco-accredited tours to see whale sharks, manta rays and humpback whales. Wineries to beachside restaurants Margaret River located south of Perth, produces a quarter of Australia’s wines, and has been awarded for producing three of the best wines in the world. Friendly producers offer tastings at over 100 cellar doors or enjoy long lunches at restaurants overlooking the area’s vines, forests and beaches.
