Escape Magazine: Autumn 2024 Edition

AFRICA

Grenada was an amazing place to visit; very safe and so easy to get out and about and explore this beautiful island. The snorkelling was incredible. We visited the underwater sculpture park, a must-do during your holiday. My highlight has to be The Bliss Day Tour in Daintree Rainforest. I felt a mix of nerves and excitement when I was told I would be drifting down the wild Baron Falls River, but the experience was nothing short of amazing.

My trip of a lifetime began with a stop in Nairobi before heading to South Africa. While in Nairobi, I had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary. In South Africa, I ticked off must-see attractions like Table Mountain and the Franschhoek Wine Tram.

ON TOUR TRAVELBAG We regularly send our Travel Specialists abroad, so they can experience our destinations first-hand and provide you with insider tips. Here are just some of the places our team visited in 2023. Our Travel Specialists have been on some wanderlust-worthy trips recently - so let’s check out where they’ve been so far this year.

SALALAH & MUSCAT, OMAN

Mauritius is a destination for everyone, couples, families, young and old. All the hotels spoil their guests and are so welcoming. The island is hot and sunny year-round, even in the winter months. Amazing sandy beaches with clear blue seas. Paradise at an affordable price! Dubai is one of the best trips that I have experienced. It is a destination surrounded by lavish hotels, vast stretches of white sandy beaches, striking skyscrapers and the Arabian desert. You can spend the day at Aqua Adventure Waterpark TM , eat Michelin-starred food, or visit one of the many different neighbourhoods for a different side of Dubai.

DUBAI, UAE

I spent two nights in Salalah, which has stunning beaches and a picturesque backdrop of mountain ranges and deserts. You can spot wildlife such as camels, donkeys, dolphins, whales and more! Muscat was fascinating. You must see the Grand Mosque and its incredible architecture and visit the Souks to bag a bargain. Oman is a peaceful alternative to the hustle and bustle of Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
