If you don’t have time to see both the Pantanal and the Amazon, but you are looking to experience the world’s largest tropical rainforest, then this four-day itinerary is for you. Staying at Amazon Ecopark, a rustic floating lodge with rooms nestled into the rainforest. During your stay, you can choose from a range of activities, allowing you to create your own itinerary. A popular excursion is the Meeting of the Waters tour, which takes you on a boat ride down the Negro River to where the Rio Negro and Solimões meet. Both of these rivers form the Amazon River, but they run for around 12km side by side without mixing due to the differences in temperature, density, and speed of each body of water. Other activities include a nature hike, where a guide will tell you about the local flora and fauna and the ways of the forest. Or opt to explore the Monkey Forest, visit the Caboclos House, go fishing, or take a nighttime canoe trip.
