FROM OCEAN TO OUTBACK
NATURAL WONDERS In the Northern Territory, you can discover Kakadu National Park. Dual-listed by UNESCO for its outstanding cultural and natural values, the park is home to Yellow Water Billabong, which weaves through the wetlands and marshes. With sailings from sunrise to sunset, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to admire the ever-changing scenery. Keep your eyes peeled for crocodiles, buffalo and native birds, including eagles and jabirus – a handsome stork, with a black head, neck and beak. Elsewhere, in South Australia, Kangaroo Island is famous for its free-roaming native wildlife. Just a 30-minute scenic flight or ferry-ride from Adelaide, this unique isle is home to koalas, echidnas, wallabies, rare Australian sea lions, and – as its name suggests – plenty of ’roos. On the island’s coast, you might also be lucky enough to spot lazy seals, playful dolphins, and migrating whales. If you want to explore further, why not don a snorkel and mask, and swim beneath the surface?
Darwin, and the jewel in Australia’s crown, Uluru. South Australia, meanwhile, is home to the National Park City of Adelaide, leafy vineyards, and the wildlife haven of Kangaroo Island. And, rolling through both regions, there’s the rust-coloured Outback, just waiting to be explored. Whether you’re searching for outdoor adventures or foodie delights, this central corridor has got it covered. Find out more, as we lift the lid on Australia’s heartland.
