Travel across the Yucatán and then enjoy a few nights of relaxation on the beach in Tulum, Riviera Maya. After a warm welcome in Cancún, get on the road and start exploring the ancient Mayan ruins, jungle cenotes and historic towns. Visit the Ek’ Balam archaeological site, where jade was discovered, which suggests that this was a wealthy Mayan town. Stop for lunch at Hacienda Selva Maya to taste traditional Yucatán dishes. In Valladolid, enjoy a walking tour of the colonial town and then head to a distillery to learn about blue agave, used to produce high-quality tequila. You will also get to visit Chichén Itzá, a pre-Columbian city built by the Mayan people that is one of the largest and best-preserved archaeological sites in the world. In Mérida, tour the city with a guide and then head out on a boat trip to observe colonies of pink flamingos. Finish up in Tulum, where you can relax on the beach or do some further sightseeing.
