Chile is the longest country in the world and combines dramatic and contrasting landscapes. Start in the country’s capital, Santiago. Spend three nights enjoying the city and the surrounding area. Tour the Museum of Memory, visit a winery in the Casablanca Valley, see Viña del Mar’s charming architecture and head to the port city of Valparaiso. In the Colchagua Valley, visit several wineries, including Cas Silva Winery, a family business where you will get to see the wine production and enjoy a tasting. En route to Puerto Varas, stop in Puerto Montt, a port town that used to be one of the top producers of salmon. Spend a full day in Puerto Varas, learn about the area’s specific flora and fauna in Alerce Andino National Park, a temperate rainforest. Finish the trip on Chiloe Island before heading back to Santiago. Visit Chacao village, which has Spanish influences. Spend some time at the San Antonio Fort. If there is time, you can add on a tour to Puñihuil, which is great for bird lovers.
