Baltra Island | Santa Cruz | Isabela Island
Spend five days exploring the two largest islands in the Galapagos - arriving in Baltra Island, head straight over to Santa Cruz to start exploring. At a giant tortoise reserve, see the majestic animals roaming and visit nearby natural lava tunnels and twin pit craters ‘The Gemelos’, where you will also see plenty of birdlife. Enjoy a full-day tour to learn about the fishing zone, Galapagos Marine Reserve, near Santa Fe Island. Swim and snorkel in the cool water to see reef sharks and colourful fish. On Isabela Island, visit the Tortoise Breeding Center, then discover the Tintoreras Islet, named after the white-tipped reef sharks. See wildlife including sea lions, turtles, rays and the blue-footed boobies, both whilst on a hike and when snorkelling. Explore the highlands of Isabela Island as you hike to Sierra Negra Crater and the rim of Volcan Chico. This itinerary gives you a different perspective of the Galapagos as you will be staying on the islands rather than on a ship sailing around them.
